From Manchester mayor to prime minister in a matter of months; Andy Burnham has been in politics for decades but what is his record and what does he stand for?
Wow, I can’t keep up with the UK’s prime ministers anymore. I’m already counting who might be next, even though the new one has only just taken over. At this rate, the entire cabinet will end up with “former prime minister” on their resume.
How will he end rough sleeping when there are some people who consider their it volitional lifestyle choice? Has he ended rough sleeping in Manchester? Interesting times ahead!
The worst thing about all of this, for me, is that I agree with him on many issues, and actually think he’ll make a dent in some of the nonsense of the last 40 years (especially the last 15…). However, I am British, therefore must assume that being careless enough to hope/believe/trust in a person/place/thing will be a catastrophic letdown… Fingers crossed he is who he appears to be and is capable of backing that up with action, but remember the realism in the meantime!
How the BBC love Andy. "Oh please Andy renew our royal charter. Let us keep our six figure salaries, generous expenses and gold-plated pensions. We love you Andy!". "Keir meant nothing to us. Its you we love."
He’ll be like everyone before him - punish those who saved, those who work, those who try and reward the idiots who can’t be bothered to do anything and screw everyone else for the privilege
Huge moment for the country! That delivery at the podium had some real energy to it. Proper shift from the previous lot. Who do we reckon is getting the top jobs in the new cabinet? Let me know who you're backing!

That's a bold take, Richard! Do you think the UK would be more stable as a full republic, or just a more symbolic monarchy?
Thats right BBC better explain who this fella is since most of the country hadn't heard of him till recently and None of the country voted for him to lead us .
The last guy's slogan was "change" and looked what happened. Only thing they change is the acceleration of Britain's decline
