I’m writing to express my view that your government, as it currently stands, is not politically or practically tenable. The recent appointment of Angela Rayner as Housing Secretary has fundamentally damaged confidence in the administration’s judgement and direction.
This is not a matter of personal dislike — it is about suitability, competence, and the message this appointment sends. Housing is one of the most critical and fragile policy areas in the country, and it demands a figure who brings stability, credibility, and a clear strategic vision. Instead, this appointment has created the opposite: uncertainty, controversy, and a sense that key roles are being filled for internal political reasons rather than national interest.
You cannot expect the public to trust a government that treats such a vital portfolio as a political bargaining chip. The consequences of this decision are already visible: reduced confidence, increased criticism, and a growing perception that your administration is losing its grip on serious governance.
If you intend to restore credibility, this appointment must be reconsidered. The country needs leadership that prioritises competence over factio
