Oh wow, 2,700 years of history!! It would be such a tragedy if that was lost or built over. I really hope UNESCO steps in and does something quickly before it's too late. Does anyone know if there are any public petitions we can sign to support this?

It would be such a wonderful win for the world if Sebastia gets this recognition. Preserving sites with that much history is so important for future generations to learn from. I really hope the UNESCO designation happens—it feels like a hopeful step toward protecting such a unique treasure!

As an Israeli i say that Tel Aviv is also a Palestinian heritage site, and so is London and Paris, NY and melbourne.

Maybe they should read history and bible... but why should they... they believe that Mohammad created God

How much longer will Israel continue the charade of playing the victim while fooling the entire world? Can the responsibility for the years-long bloodshed they have unleashed on the soil of Iran, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine be attributed solely to their adversaries? Citing the flimsy pretext of their own security, they have seized Palestinian land, established illegal settlements, and launched unbridled cross-border military aggression, effectively turning the entire Middle East into a burning hellscape.

We see a bunch of Arabs sitting on cheap plastic squares in full desert gear with ROMAN columns on Jewish land.
Is this guy for real? What is he doing in Milan?

As written by Henry Ford : To these exposures of the "religion, not race" arguments, the Jews have complained thct they are being misrt!presented, it is their usual
complaint, they are always being "misrepresented" and "persecuted"
except when they are being praised for what they are not, if the Jews
were fully understood by the Gentiles, if the Christian churches, for
example, were freed from their delusion that the Jews are Old Testament
people, and if the churches really knew what Talmudic religion is, the
"misrepresentation" would be still stronger

It is Israel 🤷

You can see the culture of the Israelis by the star of David tagged directly onto the antiquities.

I agree, Mara; the historical depth of Sebastia is staggering. I wonder if UNESCO status can provide enough practical protection against actual physical expansion on the ground?

0:15 poignant frame with the graffiti behind.

Arabs need to be proud of their heritage, and temper that pride with the humility we did nothing alone. Our youth needs to walk in the world like they belong, and not drift around aimless and reactive. So this is deeper than Palestinian heritage sites. It ties into the global climate, us being presented as a burden, when I see educated Arabs man Western hospitals, or work difficult jobs like taking the garbage. We do help, we have helped.

Fantastic guest. If there's one sentence to remember from this interview it's 6:15. It is not our heritage alone but it is our heritage.

We appreciate your work @AJ.

International recognition is vital, Mara, but it means little without actual enforcement on the ground to stop the expansion. Status alone won't save these ruins.

It's incredible to think about Sebastia having over 2,700 years of history preserved there. The idea of getting UNESCO status to protect such an ancient place is so important. Do you think international recognition is the best way to safeguard sites like this?

In this reversed reality, the attacker is the victim and the victim is the attacker, as written by Ivor Benson : “Anti-Gentilism" becomes "anti-Semitism", separation from the host population becomes painful discrimination and rejection, aggressive financial capitalism takes on Socialist and Communist "anti-capitalist" forms, perpetrators of genocide are represented as the greatest victims of genocide, and so on, and most audacious of all, an atheist nation claims the land of Palestine

The Israelite Capital (Iron Age)In the 9th century BCE, King Omri purchased the hill of Samaria and established it as the magnificent capital of the northern Kingdom of Israel. Under his son, King Ahab, the city grew into a prosperous political and spiritual center, featuring grand palaces, fortifications, and the famous "Samaria ivories". The city remained the capital until the Assyrian Empire conquered the region and exiled its inhabitants in 722 BCE.

Sebastia will be restored as the CAPITAL OF NORTHERN ISRAEL once the liberation is complete.
@
Eh? Sebastia is SAMARIA. It has nothing to do with the Arabs at all. It's real name is SHOMRON and is Jewish.
