Terrorists will have it too easy from now on, with industry-made climate warming. They only have to go in forests or fields with some boxes of matches. Blame the Industrial Revolution (1760-today) for this hell on Earth!
A bit part of the problem is that governments with their eyes on the short-term (i.e. elections and maintaining office) are reluctant to enact measures that curtail things that voters want and enjoy: foreign travel flights, cars, etc. The absurdity of the situation came home forcefully to me when I heard a BBC interview recently with Luke Tryl, the Executive Director of UK political focus group 'More In Common'. He said that people don't want to feel 'punished' by climate measures, and cited the example of a woman who approached him at a conference and said "I'm all in favour of measures to tackle climate change - but the new environmentally-friendly straws at McDonald's are useless for drinking a McFlurrie." I thought he was using that as an example of dumb voter mentality. But no... he was being serious about the woman's concerns. What hope is there of any progress when that kind of entitled mentality exists, and when people simply are unwilling to make compromises in their lifestyles - even to the point of buying their own metal drinking straw - to protect the future of the planet?
The delusional climate deniers will keep eating up the fossil fuel funded disinformation of Farage and Trump etc though.
We the people MUST UNIFY to RISE UP AGAINST this greedy, corrupt, careless, reckless climate denying status quo, to force REAL CHANGE and Legislation. We only have ONE PLANET EARTH/HOME and it's burning and flooding because of HUMAN MADE CLIMATE CHANGE.
The time for crisis meetings was 20 even 40 years ago when the media was platforming idiot climate deniers shilling for the petrochem industry. Now we have billionaires building bunkers and telling us it's capitalism or doom. The crisis is OBVIOUSLY capitalism and the corruption that has taken it off the rails.

Sure, let's just give them the keys to the nuclear club. I'm sure the "civil" part of this program is the only thing on everyone's mind here. Just another day of trading long-term stability for some quick corporate contracts. Great plan.
