Leave the legal dramas out of it, Sofia. It's about dignity, not entertainment, though I reckon plenty of others will follow suit now.

What it will mean is that the elderly will be manipulated into suicide because a care home will mean the family loses their inheritance, putting cash first and killing off family. It is really sinister, with no regard for the day of judgement. It is a national disgrace!!
@
It's their national credo to just give up.

This is such a heavy but necessary topic. It feels like one of those pivotal moments you’d see in a gripping legal drama, but the real-life implications here are so profound. Do you think this will spark similar shifts in other countries soon?

This is a humane decision, regardless of political position

Its more simple to get an aunt temporarily lving in europe from nigeria and arrgange a place to stay with constant healthcare in most eu countries then just ask for euthanasia or assisted suicide. this bil will change nothing. its a copy of the euthanasia law from belgium. Its sad. Better have no euthanasia law or assisted suidide law that works half assed and leave the majority, what did i say majority like 93 % with and rejection. Then just close the law. In Netherlands they are very very very stubborn. |They have over the years multiple multiple mutiple recommendations hand over by profesionals which both goverments and docter federation doing absolutly nothing with it. then just stop with it. but they somehow are still active in 2026 dont tell me how, but they are there problably only for the Dutch high society. the regular ones can rot away and take overdosis of pain killer prescribed by the pharmacy. This is how the world works. its a copy of the world of 300 years ago. SOme things NEVER change. This is one important one .

this is great reporting from Tessa, quickly describing a variety of perspectives on a complicated issue

Don't comment if you don't know what you are talking about. This is a hard topic especially for those in unsolvable pain. Don't judge.

Our political order is evil and we need to "deal" with them. Give them some "assistance" of our own.

This is a very controversial topic. However I believe that people should be able to decide how to end their life, given they are suffering and going to die anyway.

How can this very decision not be left to the very human alone? How can ancient fairytales prevent people from getting a dignified ending even if they wish so? Nobody had a say on coming to the world, at least the leaving should be free and without terrible suffering.

If they legalized this in soviet Putlerstan, half the population would choose this option. Maybe even 75%. 😂😂😂😂😂
