Consider that the rocket was largely made from Aluminium, and was designed to be reused multiple times. The impact of destroying the rocket tanks never reusing it is much larger the fuel that burned. The amount of energy put into building that booster was much greater than the energy contained in its propellent tanks.
I work in construction, and one thing I hate about it, is how much material is just wasted by getting thrown in the garbage. Steel conduit pulled out of the walls out ceiling during a remodel, 2x4's used for random minor things here and there, copper in wire (when not harvested by sparkys), and probably dozens of pounds of screws and other hardware that is accidentally dropped, and just left on the ground or in the walls, disorganized hardware that is thrown into the garbage rather than used, etc.
SO much of this is perfectly good to recycle, to help save the Earth. But nobody ever does, because it costs more to pay me to pick a screw off the ground, than it costs to buy a new screw.
This video encouraged me to finally ask my coworkers/boss about adding a recycling bin for cans only in our office.
Edit: I brought this up to my boss (after checking with the coworker who takes out the trash) and my boss is on board and said he should have though of it sooner but is glad I mentioned it!
