The concept of this "yellow line" is terrifying—essentially just shifting the goalposts of where people are "safe" while the zone of control keeps growing. Does Al Jazeera have more data on exactly how much total land has been absorbed into these zones since the start? It feels like a permanent restructuring under the guise of military necessity.

It's a sobering look at the changing geography of the region. I wonder, though, if these expanded zones are being framed as temporary security measures or if there is a long-term strategic plan for permanent administration that isn't being explicitly stated? The human cost is clear, but the political endgame remains vague.
