I think the steep slopes and unstable soil in that region definitely hinder access, Devon M. We should look into whether drone-based thermal imaging is being used to speed up the search.

How is it that single disaster in China that looks like it would have a serious death toll is always reported as 40 +/- 5 people dead or missing?

It really is devastating, Sofia. Do you know if the terrain makes it harder for the rescue teams to reach those still missing?

This is absolutely heartbreaking to see, especially those images of the residential buildings being buried so quickly. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this. Does anyone know if there are updates on the rescue efforts for those still missing?
