Seems to me we really are seeing the results of 1980s Thatcherism with avengence. Too much run by private enterprise, so, profit over services, over jobs and over the people.

Tough watch, but those ONS figures are a real wake-up call for the country. Huge task ahead for Burnham if he's going to get the numbers moving in the right direction. Do we reckon his plan is actually doable, or is it too little too late? Who's your money on here?
