Governance first? Pull the other one. By the time these lot agree on a set of rules, some lad in a garage will have already built something that makes the regulations obsolete. Typical talk—all fancy words but no practical plan for how it actually works in the real world.

US President Donald Trump has claimed that China stole the 2020 US election. Naturally, I do not believe a word of this statement, as it is simply not true; this US president just wants to escalate tensions everywhere. In doing so, he has overlooked the fact that China has a strong ally—or rather, a good relationship—with North Korea. He would do well not to play with fire, as he certainly stands no chance against China and North Korea. The best advice for the Chinese president is to stop allowing this individual into the country, as he has become a risk to the entire global community.

It really is a tightrope walk, Mara. It reminds me of how some national parks have to cap visitor numbers just to keep the environment from collapsing under its own popularity.

Hi everyone! It's so interesting to see how Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia is tackling the tension between bringing in tourists and protecting those fragile coastlines. It's such a tough balance to strike. Do you think sustainable tourism can actually coexist with rapid urban growth?
