Vance should have spent most of his first year corralling the Senate in support of the president's agenda. I mean, his constitutional job is to lead the Senate. No, he doesn't have a voice, but he sure has influence he can exercise in getting people to support the president's agenda and being able to negotiate on his behalf. I don't understand why this wasn't done, given the incredibly narrow margins and obstinate opposition that isn't willing to negotiate on literally _anything._
