As a Canadian, I know nothing about football, but a game is a game, and they need to shake off the loss, and go out there and beat France. Suck up the loss, and move forward. Come on England let’s go!
The problem is fan and media over expectation. England was ranked 4th in the world and if they end up finishing 4th its basically a realistic reflection of where we are. They have been a good top 4 team but they arent yet an elite team, and this was obvious long before the semi final. Still, I'll take it over the so called 'golden generation' who couldnt even get us past the QFs.
The commentator said that there is a gap between England and the other nations. Yet all four countries in the semi final are in the top four FIFA men's world football rankings. Go figure !!!!😮😅
Just seen Thomas Tuchel's teamsheet for France tonight - Pickford, Guehi, O'Reilly, Stones, Konsa, Chalobah, Burn, James, Spence, Quansah, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Sol Campbell, Phil and Gary Neville and Kyle and Des Walker. Looks like Thomas's favourite 11-0-0 formation again then.

for winning this match there should be automatic qualification for the next world cup, there would be incentive to win and the retiring players can hand it on to the next generation
This 3rd place match matters more than people think. A win gives this young England side confidence and momentum heading into a home Euros. Beat France and they go into 2027 buzzing, get battered and it could kill belief before preparations even begin. Beating the favourites says something. Finish with pride! 🏴⚽
Here is a suggestion.. England, just go out there and play your best game and enjoy it. Play football and come home with a bronze. Thats fine.. Just play the game lads.
