The 2026 World Cup has finally come to a close, as Rodri, Lamine Yamal & Spain defeated Lionel Messi & Argentina 1-0 in extra time, and that has our crew taking a look ahead to the 2030 World Cup, whi
Almost lost a France along the way? When was that??This Argentine commentator is just as smart as all the Argentine players combined, which isn't high.
64 teams would be a complete disaster. 48 team already ruined the quality of the game and the unfairness between teams: how can you compare the KO side of Spain with the one for Argentina (Cape Verde, Austria and Switzerland!!!)? This was due to the fact that they took 3rd-place teams in the KO round and the huge level discrepancies among the groups. Please let's go back to 32, please!
Nico are you watching the Spain parade live in Madrid? it so beautiful, all the players are dancing to hip hop song, and drinking on top of buses along the parade route. Lamine Laval is the Ballor Dor of hip hop dancing, cause that boy can dance. The Spaniard boys are so much fun, and party very hard.
This is problematic because average teams with little squad depth find themselves in even greater difficulty. While they previously needed to pull off one or two upsets to reach the semi-finals, now they have to pull off one more.
It’s pretty much official that it will be 64 teams. After the success of this World Cup I don’t see it not happening. I’m happy that it will make it easier for some European teams because it’s very difficult to qualify through there, teams like Hungary, Italy, Serbia, Wales, Poland etc I think can all compete at the World Cup given the chance.
What 48 does over time is dismantles the European monopolies. What does Ivory Coast look like with Diomande the Doue brothers and Ahmad or if all the African players playing for France decide to play for their nations? Because the only reason most of them weren't was because they could never qualify. I think it gives smaller nations the chance to build. 64 teams is insane that's too much.
If you add more teams then it has to be every 5 years. People will lose interest fast.
