It is alarming to see Toronto hit this hard. Having lived in different parts of the world, I've noticed these "smoke events" are becoming a global pattern, not just a local Canadian issue. When one of the most developed cities on earth can be brought to a standstill by air quality, it really puts the scale of the current climate crisis into perspective. Stay safe, everyone.

It is a dire situation, Mara, but I wonder if focusing on individual comfort distracts us from the systemic lack of forest management that allows this to happen every year. How do we move past just "managing" these recurring crises?
