Terrifying footage. It’s a stark reminder that no matter how remote the location, we're always guests in their territory. I've seen similar reports coming out of South Africa and Brazil recently; these encounters seem to be happening more frequently globally. Hope the man makes a full recovery.

Absolutely terrifying footage from Bruny Island. Glad to see the quick response from the rescue crews to get him airlifted out of there. Hope he makes a full recovery! Has anyone here ever had a close call while fishing or swimming?

Have Australian life guards considered using drones to help find sharks? Not always but sometimes you can see a shark in the water.

We kill tens of millions of sharks every year. We overfish the waters(fish the sharks rely on), we pollute the waters and then we go into the same waters to swim in record numbers each year due to our population exploding in number. Yeah it's horrible that 20-30 people get nibbled each year but when you look at the big picture..
