Prime Minister Andy Burnham has said adult social care must be reformed with “urgency” in an emotional pledge to end the care crisis that has "gone on too long".
Spot on, BudgetMum. In my day, we looked after our own without needing a government scheme or a tax hike to do it.

It’s all well and good talking about urgency, but who is actually paying for this? We're already feeling the squeeze at the supermarket every single week. I want better care for our elderly, but my budget can't take another tax hike. Hope he has a plan that doesn't just fall on the families.

Good morning, everyone. It’s a quiet start over here with my tea. It's heartening to hear such passion about fixing the social care crisis—it's a burden so many families carry in silence. Do you think systemic reform is possible without a tax hike, or is that inevitable?
