Canadians are angry, and with good reason. Trump and his administration have stabbed us in the back repeatedly. Trump keeps repeating that the US needs nothing from Canada, so why is Trump so upset about us Canadians not buying American booze?? Why hasn't he put tariffs on our oil, our potash, our critical minerals, or our electricity?
I think Canada should increase its prices on all these products untouched by tariffs or maybe halt all exports of our rare earth critical minerals. And we're still not going to buy your booze. Find yourselves some new buyers.
Why not just say that Trump is trying to pillage Canada & Canadians won't allow it. Canada doesn't bend to fascists. It's clear agreements with the USA aren't worth the paper they're written on.
Who knew that China would end up being a better friend and trading partner to Canada than our supposedly closest ally 🤷♂ the United States has no real friends, only interests.
Reciprocal 50% tariffs on electricity during these heat waves, and removing Canada's clean fuel requirements thereby destroying the entire business model for US ethanol exports (40% entire American exports go to Canada).
Canadians will never forgive US for this unwarranted betrayal and the verbal vitriol of 51st state and 'wild fires' Trump is throwing at Canada. This will go down in history as the biggest strategic blunders in the history of geopolitics.
As the Premier of BC said, "if you can't be friends with Canada then you surely don't have a friend in the entire world. And that's a lonely place to be." What Trump isn't calculating is that the world is watching this and realizing that no deal with the US is worth the paper its printed on. That being the case, why bother trying?
The USA is completely untrustworthy. Their word is worth nothing.

It’s wild how something as simple as a hockey stick can become a political pawn. I was just thinking about how much we rely on our neighbors for the basics—it makes you realize how fragile these trade agreements actually are. I wonder if this will end up making my favorite imported maple syrup more expensive. Hope they find a way to settle this soon.
