I read today that the fire experts say this could go on for months, because the fires can smoulder underground, and then break out again. My neighbours' house burned to the ground some years ago, and it was the most frightening and heartbreaking thing I've ever seen.

I have to salute those brave french firemen trying to contain these deadly wildfires, they certainly need to be given honours for their dedication and valour.
