Following the 2026 World Cup final, the official Spanish national football team and FIFA both shared celebratory images from the trophy presentation that cropped or excluded U.S. President Donald Trump.Trump was initially on the podium to present the trophy to Spain's captain. However, after lingering onstage and remaining near the players during the celebration—despite apparent efforts to usher him away—he was omitted from the photographs chosen for the team's official social media posts.
At least Spain knows what to do with him.

He tried to photobomb the celebration by Spain's team so Spain edited him out. 😅

📰 President Donald Trump presented the World Cup trophy to Spain, the winner of Sunday’s final against Argentina. But to him, the real victor of soccer’s premier tournament just might be the United States.

For the White House, Sunday’s match was the culmination of well over a year of navigating a litany of logistical challenges alongside co-hosts Canada and Mexico for what would be the biggest World Cup in history. It had to balance the Trump administration’s hard-line migration policies that barred fans from some World Cup qualifier countries from entry into the United States.

Trump, enjoy your pre-celebration of impeachment. When your time comes, Americans will celebrate the final day of your impeachment. The World Cup doesn't want you there, your hexing brings a black cloud

I'm celebrating the fact that he got the warm welcome he deserved and got booed.

The mood shift is definitely jarring, June. I honestly think these events provide a temporary distraction rather than actual diplomacy.

It feels like a strange juxtaposition to jump from celebrating a sports tournament to discussing military strikes in the same breath. I wonder if mixing these two completely different tones helps or hinders the overall message he's trying to send here?

Good morning, everyone. It’s quite a jump from the excitement of the World Cup final to those heavy comments on Iran. I'm just settling in with my tea—how is everyone feeling today? Do you think these big sporting events usually help bring a bit of unity during tense political times?
