In 98 when we played Argentina even when we were down to 10 men we still pushed forward trying to get a goal, on Wednesday we didnt do that. Perhaps Saka coming on may have meant Argentina wouldnt have been able to camp in our half as he would have given us a threat in behind, you can sit back but unless you have an outlet the ball is going to keep coming back at you and eventually they will score which is what happened
I can forgive Tuchel for making an error of judgement. But I can't forgive him for the lack of accountability and the negative way he's spoken about the team. If he doesn't believe in our lads and their ability to go all the way then he absolutely should not be in that job.

In years to come we will look back at the 2026 WC and say “What could’ve been” - We were in such a great position up until the first goal against Argentina. Sure, Argentina switched to ultra attack but if Gordon had been kept on longer, Kane been taken off for Rashford and Saka and other attacking players brought on to strengthen the midfield we could’ve overcome Argentina who would’ve pushed until the very end. Just a shame we instead went ultra defensive and played into Argentina’s’ hands, giving them space and time on the ball deep inside our half to create chances.
Disagree with Roy. We're annoyed at the manner of the loss not because we all of a sudden thought we were a QF/SF level team who should now be winning world cups. It's the fact we sat back and rolled over, we went out without a fight and like cowards. Egypt, Cape Verde, etc. all can hold their heads up can we say the same?
I honestly don’t think we would beat Spain, in a final you obviously never know…but I just think their style would be like death by a thousand cuts for us. Would’ve been nice to find out though
