BOJ keep saying that inflation is under 2%. Have been living in Japan for a decade. This is definitely a lie. Groceries, Energy, Rent went up by 20-30% in the last 3 years.
I was born and raised in Japan and now live in the US. Every time I think about Yen carry, I wonder why the systems are making it easy for banks and financial institutions to make money while individual investors like myself cannot even taken an advantage of the week yen - Both the US and the Japanese gov'ts are carefully watching the amount of the currency exchange or any bank transactions I make... It's not fair.
