Sky Sports News speaks to reporter Keith Downie live from St James' Park, former Newcastle United players Steve Watson and Lee Clark, and broadcaster Pete Graves, as they pay tribute to Kevin Keegan f
I never knew he was double ballon winner 😮😮😮 iam sunderland fan and i loved kevin keegan, it was impossible not to!!! His passion for the game was ridiculous and he done so much for the north east, it was a pleasure to have him as a rival manager, what a genuinely nice bloke ❤
I've been a City fan all my life but he was my footballing hero growing up, even played in Patrick boots myself and when he became our manager in 2001 well it was like a second coming for me, he lit up Maine Road just as he did at St.James' Park. RIP no.7
RIP king Kevin Keegan . Newcastle United wouldn’t be the club it is today without him, he picked the club up off its knees and carried it on his back with. Infectious enthusiasm and unrivalled passion.

For the 1977/78 season, Keegan moved to the Bundesliga to join Hamburger SV. He was a fan favorite. Thank you for the wonderful, lasting memories, and we offer our condolences to the family from Germany.
As a German I am deeply saddened about his early death. I have been a supporter of Hamburger SV since the early 1980s and he was very impressive as a player then. Years later, as a student at Newcastle University, I witnessed his taking over NUFC as a Manager (in 1991 or 1992), when the fans painted the streets in black and white. RIP Kevin, you are Not going to be forgotten! Ha‘ way the lads and best from Germany
Kevin Keegan's Grandad was a Geordie. He was one of the rescuers in the 1909 West Stanley Mining disaster. He did have Family connections. R..I.P. King Kev ... 😪
I was an aircraft dispatcher at Newcastle Airport in the 90s and had the privilege of looking after the team's flights when they returned home. No matter the result, Kevin always took the time to chat about the match—not just with me, but with everyone around him. He made you feel like you mattered.
Kevin was Newcastle, even though he was born in Doncaster. He embodied everything the club stands for and gave supporters memories they'll cherish forever.
Hearing today's news has hit me as hard as when I heard Sir Bobby Robson had passed away. Some losses never really leave you—you don't get over them, you simply learn to live with them.
I can only speak for myself, but if you love football, no matter which club you support, today we've all lost a legend.
Rest in peace, Kev. Thank you for everything. You will be greatly missed.
We former West Germans remember Mr. Keegan as a great person and one of the best ambassadors of Great Britain in Germany.
Unforgotten.
