It was an amazing time to say the least, I watched these launch with my dad on TV a long time ago but I'm pretty sure that SpaceX has the tallest and most powerful ship ever built now.
What an amazing achievement. I remember the shire awe of seeing that monster of a machine lifting off the pad and following it to the moon! Now its awesome power has finally be surpassed by Starship, but it will always be our first and greatest.
Congratulations on the best chemistry explainer I've seen in a long time. I will say this I'm so glad I took Hazardous Materials in my Chem E degree. We were talking about this problem 10 years ago and how to deal with it.

That requires that you slow down into Lunar orbit, and then re-accelerate. That requires a great deal of fuel and engine weight, as well as exceptional timing precision.
I personally think that this was a beautiful piece of amazing technology. I wish I could have seen this in person 😢. It just looked and sounded amazing, I know it's not as powerful or as tall as the new Star Ship rockets, but Saturn 5 just looked the part, and it took our American friends to the Moon 🌙 and back - well done 👏 😊

All the flat earth and moon landing conspiracy theorists out there: do you really believe that a "lie" from the 1950s would have held on until now, today? 70 years. Without anyone busting the myth and telling the truth? Yeah, also the ISS, China's achievements of the last decades and the Artemis missions are all made in Hollywood? NASA, ESA, Russia, China, Japan, India all telling the same lie simultaneously....? You're even too bad to be used as dogfood.
Too bad, not one mention of Grumman Aerospace and their construction of the Lunar Module. Was proud to work there in the 80's.
