7:45 You are supposed to loosen the camshaft gear bolt with a counter torque tool holding the gear the opposite way to not snap the cams (such as Bahco BE523106).
So the proper way on T-Jets:
- Rotate engine until the bottom crankshaft locking tool fits and the cylinders are all level and cylinder 1 is on the way down (use the measuring sticks that go in the spark plug holes that come with the timing kit).
- Fit the camshaft locking tool in place into the back of the head
- Fit counter torque tool and loosen the camshaft gear bolt
- Remove belt
- Renew WP, tensioner, fit new belt
- Tension the belt
- With the belt now tensioned use the counter torque tool to not put stress onto the camshafts directly, and then tighten the camshaft gear bolt to 80nm
- Rotate the engine a couple of turns
- Check that both locking tools still fit in place easily
That way when you tension the belt and it wants to turn the camshaft gear slightly, it does not affect timing! No playing with marks, and perfect timing every time! Procedure is listed on Fiat elearn as well.
Always serviced on time and Selina was always on the invoice so assumed it was used, Never let it run low on oil. Previously had an Abarth Comp for 4 years with no issues. Car always warmed up before running anywhere. The engine light came on cold start and misfire but after warming up and restarting it sounded fine.

This is not including the 4 services it had and still nobody picked up the actual issue.
This issue arose 2 months off the dealership courtyard. They had it back 4 times, then 2 "Specialists" all the while we were unknowingly smashing the engine. We were even told after each investigation to run it a few hundred miles before running normal.
Service light on this time as it came on while we were waiting to take to Neil.
It was a previous video Neil made about the lifters we saw that led us to telling the garages that this might need looking at. However a comment on here I agree with is "Don't want the hassle of the work" just kids with laptops.
My suspicion is that the dealer did the "200" point check as cheap as possible and this is where the
